Welcome to Southside

As Real Estate Agents, we refer to many neighborhoods by name. You may not be familiar with some areas, so let us introduce you! The South Side Neighborhood is bordered by 8th Avenue to the north, Hal Greer Blvd to the east, West 7th Street to the west, and I64 to the south. There are 3 neighborhood organizations within these boundaries. The South Side Neighborhood Organization (SSNO), Enslow Park Neighborhood Organization and Inwood Garden Club.

The South Side is proud to feature the gem of Huntington’s park system, Ritter Park. The park, which features a walking path, award-winning playground, tennis courts, amphitheater, and PetSafe Dog Park, was recognized by the American Planning Association in 2012 as one of America’s 10 Great Public Spaces. The majority of the South Side has been built on a grid system with avenues reaching east to west, and streets, north to south. Much of the housing stock was built in the early 1900s, with Colonial Revival, Tudor, and Foursquare brick homes being the most popular. Tree-lined brick streets or avenues may still be found, and sidewalks abound for easy walking. Spacious front porches extend living space and enable neighborly camaraderie.
